UW Innovation

MS in biotech pays dividends for Wisconsin

In 2002, the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health launched the Master of Science in Biotechnology to prepare students to succeed in the state’s then-nascent industry.

Twenty years later, Wisconsin has emerged as a powerhouse. About two-thirds of the program’s graduates are still in Wisconsin, at established companies such as Promega, Labcorp, Exact Sciences, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Aldevron, and Illumina, as well as startups. Read more about twenty years of biotech at UW–Madison.
