As the year comes to a close, the Office of Business Engagement is taking a moment to reflect on 2022—a year of connection, growth and partnership. Here are our top headlines for the year, which were all made possible thanks to our business and industry partners.
Babayosimi (Simi) Fadiran, a microbiology major in his second year, is the 2022 recipient of the Jake Leinenkugel Diversity in Brewing Award, which supports students from underrepresented groups pursuing studies in brewing or fermentation sciences at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
On February 10, Aldevron hosted a virtual celebration of its lab facility expansion in Madison. Aldevron produces the raw materials that allow clients to make groundbreaking therapies, and its protein business unit has operated within University Research Park since 2009. Oshkosh Corporation, a company that employs over 100 UW-Madison alumni, and that is actively working with distinguished alumni from the College of Engineering, was recently selected for a contract to supply tactical vehicles to the U.S. Department of Defense -- an agreement valued at 30 billion dollars.
