In September, $175 million of private investment launched an effort to raise an additional $50 million for a state-of-the-art facility for UW–Madison’s School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences. The facility will be a hub for the bustling tech ecosystem in Wisconsin, fostering academic research, supporting booming student interest, and hosting collaborations with industry and community partners. Read more.

UW–Madison ranked first among public universities by Washington Monthly

In Washington Monthly’s 2021 College Guide and Rankings, UW–Madison was the highest ranked national public university and fourth overall. The ranking is based on three criteria: research excellence, social mobility, and community and national service. “The Monthly’s rankings are crafted to push institutions of higher learning to be engines of upward mobility, scientific progress, and democratic participation,” the magazine explains. Read more.
